TSMSS - God Be With You Till We Meet Again

When I was growing up, the Christian radio station in Houston had a program on at 10::00 every Sunday night called Songs in the Night, produced by Moody Church. Each week they closed the half hour of music and meditations with the hymn, God Be With You Till We Meet Again. I often drifted to sleep while that song was playing.

I was so excited to discover it on Selah's new CD You Deliver Me. As always, Selah sings an incredible arrangement.

GOD BE WITH YOU TILL WE MEET AGAIN

God be with you till we meet again;
By His counsels guide, uphold you,
With His sheep in love enfold you;
God be with you till we meet again.

Chorus
Till we meet, till we meet,
Till we meet at Jesus' feet;
Till we meet, till we meet,
God be with you till we meet again.

God be with you till we meet again!
'Neath His wings securely hide you,
Daily manna still provide you;
God be with you till we meet again!

God be with you till we meet again!
When life's perils thick confound you,
Put His arms unfailing 'round you;
God be with you till we meet again!

God be with you till we meet again!
Keep love's banner floating o'er you,
Smite death's threatening wave before you;
God be with you till we meet again!

WORDS: Jeremiah E. Rankin, 1880
MUSIC: William G. Tomer, 1882

I spent 11 days in Guatemala on a mission trip. Our last night there the people of Paz United Methodist Church made a circle around us and sang this song to us in Spanish. We sang it back to them in English.

Linda, I was so excited to learn that Selah recorded this on their latest CD. I love this song!

It reminds me of Bible Study Fellowship (BSF). At the end of every year, we all hold hands and sing this song. At every regional retreat it is so touching as at least a thousand people hold hands and sing this song. It always brings me to tears.

Thank you for posting this one today.

Blessings,
Debbie

Throwin' that HOWDY back atcha! Nice to meet you Linda! I've not gotten around to all the Texas gals yet. Glad you stopped by.

Love Love Love SELAH. And I've always loved this song, too. Just knowing we who belong the Lord WILL see each other again is so comforting! I saw that especially when we've been in Mexico on mission trips and made dear friends with the Christians down there. I will probably never see them again in this life, but it gives me great joy to know I'll see them in heaven!!!

I've posted the words to this song on my blog before because I just love the picture of His saints meeting again and again here on earth and then again at His feet. I love Selah's rendition....
