Hello from Atlanta!

I'm here in Atlanta for the International Christian Retailer's Show (ICRS) and having a blast! I'm hanging out and rooming with Kim from Window to My World who - and this may be hard to believe - is as crazy about books as I am! Kim does the monthly interviews for Christian Fiction Online Magazine and is a stellar reviewer.

Last night we walked a few blocks from the hotel and had a Southern meal at Aunt Pittypat's Porch. We had fried chicken, biscuits, cornbread, sliced tomatoes. . .and she said she could have made a meal from the collard greens and black-eyed peas. (Those are two Southern dishes I never have been able to make myself like.)

But the highlight of the meal was when author Susan Meissner came over and told me hello - she remembered me from when we met and I interviewed her at the Book Expo in Dallas! That absolutely made my day, and what fun it was to turn and introduce her to Kim. Susan has been nominated for a Chrsity Award for Lady in Watiing and she and her husband came a few days early to enjoy some time in the city. It was fun meeting him as well. And what are the chances we would be in the same restaurant just a few tables apart?

While we were chatting Susan gave me a sneak peek into her next book, due out in October, and promised me a copy.

Gotta run! More fun awaits!

I enjoy Susan Meissner. Cool! My favorite book she's written is "The Shape of Mercy".

Go say hi to my friend, Randy Alcorn. He should be doing book signings and also a fiction panel thingy. I know he was awake and couldn't sleep last night, so hopefully he'll be awake for today. Praying for all of you at the convention. Have fun!
