No books or banter today. Our church is reeling from the loss of one of the kids in our youth group. A young man who graduated from high school just this past May was killed in an auto accident as he was driving back to college from the Thanksgiving weekend on Sunday evening. The driver of the vehicle who caused the wreck (but was not involved) never stopped.
I can't even begin to wrap my mind around what his family is experiencing. My girl is heartbroken, and she wasn't even one of his closest friends. Just last Monday we had a funeral for the woman who died of cancer; now we're facing another one.
Give your kids an extra hug today.

Oh, how awful. That has to be so tough. Thank you for sharing, I will certainly be praying for his family and friends.
Hugging and telling your loved ones how much you love them should never be put off. Not a single one of us is guaranteed tomorrow.
So very sad for this family. I will keep them in my prayers today.
As a mom of 2 girls who drive 6 hours to college, this hits too close to home. Praying for peace for you and your church family.

it's been a season of loss here, too...three friends have lost a parent each, unexpectedly...and it is especially hard when early death involved a young person.
