Well, it USED to be small...now it's becoming one of the bigger suburbs! My favorite spot was always our little library. Since the town has grown so much, they are trying to tear it down and build a bigger one. I'm hoping not, because of all the good memories there! But, yeah, that's my fave hometown spot. :)Bekahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02476225903406423024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2172707736566212799.post-35851026328962837452017-04-21T09:56:43.117-05:002017-04-21T09:56:43.117-05:00My favorite hometown spot is our local library bec...My favorite hometown spot is our local library because it has internet access, excellent resources, as well as fun social programs for all ages.Danielle H.https://www.blogger.com/profile/11079935240201178744noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2172707736566212799.post-48649378896601907102017-04-20T15:30:31.566-05:002017-04-20T15:30:31.566-05:00My favorite hometown spot is downtown New Albany, ...My favorite hometown spot is downtown New Albany, MS. We have a small park that commemorates the capture site of Jefferson Davis at the end of the Civil War, and our area was also designated as a resettlement area (with one and two mule farms) by the WPA during the Depression. The families here are still extremely close, and everyone looks out for each other. Therefore, I'd have to say that my favorite spot is the community center where we all gather for meetings/events to spend time together. It is actually the old lunchroom of the school my father attended as a little boy, and it's the only part still standing. It may not be fancy, but it's the heart of our community.Amy O"Quinnhttp://amyoquinn.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2172707736566212799.post-52352376778934180292017-04-10T21:28:35.279-05:002017-04-10T21:28:35.279-05:00TWELVE MILES

We have a big enough chain grocery store and pharmacy -- but otherwise, our choices are eating establishments. We are sure blessed to have so many of them available too! My favorite is a fairly new place started by a local chef who moved back to our area on purpose to treat us to great food. He smokes all the meats on-premise and makes us so hungry when we smell all these delicious preps being done!! All of the food is super delicious and shows his creativity in preparing tasty food. A close second for me is a little diner just a few doors away from the BBQ place. They serve all homemade food and use a lot of their grandma's recipes. Yum! Yum! I just tried the baklava tonight. Yes! Also, I love the local coffee shop as they make the Best cinnamon rolls and have lots of flavorful coffees and coffee drinks. There are several other place. Who knew a small village could support so many "restaurants" and pizzarias??? We sure don't have to drive far (some are in walking distance) to find good food when we want to eat out. jazzlover25https://www.blogger.com/profile/00536008516590943962noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2172707736566212799.post-74333817071804811902017-04-07T12:29:18.656-05:002017-04-07T12:29:18.656-05:00My favorite hometown spot is Whalon Lake ... it...My favorite hometown spot is Whalon Lake ... it's just 5 minutes from our house and makes a wonderful 5K exercise walk every day. The boys actually let us girls join in the fun swinging across the narrow lane full of water on the vines that grew there (my mother would have been so upset had she known that at the time!) We let our imaginations run wild and had trails in the woods back to our houses. No indoor TV days for us...we played outside until dark, when our mom's would step out on the porches and yell as loud as they could to bring us back in for the night.
