1. I can say the alphabet backwards in less than 5 seconds.
2. I love to have my fingernails squeezed. Especially my thumbs. (Sorry, Xandra!)
3. I love hymns. I always had a reputation for knowing all the verses and the page numbers in the old Baptist Hymnal. Learning songs is just easy for me. I also know (from memory) the last verse of The Star-Spangled Banner. A friend in college was shocked to discover there even WAS more than one verse. (There are actually 4 verses originally penned by Francis Scott Key.)
4. I have always and only lived in Texas. And as a kid, I always felt sorry for people who lived in other states, especially those with "boring" shapes such as Colorado and the Dakotas!
5. Being outside in the sun gives me a migraine. This is a definite problem because of #4.
6. I like to organize things. (And yes, my spices are alphabetized. How else would you find the one you need?) It's actually a disease, I think! Put me in a meeting or give me some data, and I can't help lining up those ducks in their rows!
7. I love to bake. Always from scratch. Well, I do make angel food cake from a mix; what would I ever do with all those leftover egg yolks?! But anything else is the old-fashioned way. Pie crusts, too. (They really aren't that difficult!) I've actually cut back, though, because baking leads to eating. . . . .
Even though I'm supposed to tag people, I know lots of you have already done this because you've been blogging lots longer than I have. However, if you haven't, and especially those of you who are new blog buddies, consider yourself tagged!
The Rules are:
1. Link to your tagger and post these rules on your blog.
2.Share 7 things about yourself, some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
HEY THAT IS GREAT YOU ARE SO ORGANIZED, WISH I WAS:) YOU MUST HAVE A PHOTO GENIC MEMORY, IS THAT WHAT ITS CALLED?? VERY COOL! ITS FUN TO LEARN MORE ABOUT YA:) HOPE YOUR EASTER WAS GREAT!
ReplyDeleteGreat to learn more about you! I live in a very interesting state. You see even in Texas you can't use your hand to tell where you live, but in Michigan well!
ReplyDeleteYou would absolutely croak if you saw my spice cabinet.
ReplyDeleteThat's all.
:)
Lisa
No, but I'd sure have fun organizing it!!
ReplyDelete...As long as you kept the flying canisters away.
And Stone Gatherer Kim, you're gonna have to explain the Michigan hand thing to me. . . I'm intrigued!
ReplyDeleteoh hardy har...:)))
ReplyDeleteI swear we are twins separated at birth! (Except for finger thing.) Your list could have been mine. My family and I were just discussing the other night after a session of singing hymns around the piano, that any self-respecting Baptist knows ALL 6 verses to Just As I Am.
ReplyDeleteMy husband was raised Catholic, and deosn't have the preconceived ideas about hymns that I tend to have. For instance, you and I both know which hymns are the "invitation" hymns and the "funeral" hymns because we grew up with it.
My family doesn't sing hymns like Just As I Am or Softly and Tenderly when we sing because they are "invitation" songs, but Trevor just requests whichever ones he likes. It's actually sort of nice, because we've rediscovered how beautiful many of those songs are.
Quick, what is the hymn on page 187? LOL!
Xandra
O.K. I'll try to explain without a picture, it that doesn't work I'll post on my blog. When explaining where you live if you live in Michigan, you hold up your hand fingers together, thumb out and point to the proximity of where you live on your hand. I live near the Lake Michigan Shore line about 1/3 of the way up, so I would point to just in and about an inch under my pinky finger! You can even do this with the U.P. a little. Ya know I feel a picture coming on anyway! I'll have to use my kids! Have a great day, and I hope this helps solve the puzzle!
ReplyDeleteOh and BTW my spice baskets I think would make you pass out! they are in awful shape!!!!
ReplyDeleteMochaLinda, I am dying to know WHY you love to have your fingernails squeezed. However, I would rather have my fingernails squeezed than organize a spice cabinet. You rock.
ReplyDeleteBoring shapes like Colorado??? Have you been here?
ReplyDeleteI have lots of pictures from Colorado on my blog over the past week. It's not boring.
LOL
Have a great one!!
God bless.
Colorado is indeed a beautiful state.
ReplyDeleteBut my mom had this great Texas shaped cookie cutter, which is now mine. Square or rectanglular shaped state cookies don't quite make the same impact on a cookie platter. . .
:-)
1. Impressive. Most impressive.
ReplyDelete2. I got nothin.
3. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE hymns. If I sing too many repetitive choruses at church I become "hymn deprived." I had a friend whose kids would sing, "Our God, is a repetitive God, he reigns . . ."
4. Since age 4, I've lived in Central Florida. I feel sorry for people who can't go to Walt Disney World at the spur of the moment.
5. I LOVE the sun. We are buying a boat this year to go deep sea fishing! (we owned a boat pre-kids)
6. who doesn't alphabetize their spices?
7. bake? can you do that in a microwave?
p.s. I'm giving away a book again!
See...I knew we would get along in real life, anything I forgot you would be sure to remember. :)
ReplyDeleteAlphabetizing spices? you're kidding, right? Knowing Julie, I'm sure neither one of you are.
ReplyDeleteI love the 7 kinds of random you are! Thanks for sharing!
Whew! I'm glad you didn't say "boring state like OR!" ha ha
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday!
You organized your what??? Your spice cabinet? That's awesome...I have a whole cabinet full of them that need to be alphabetized...can ya help me?
ReplyDeleteEven my angel food cake from the box didn't turn out right :-( I buy mine already prepared now!! And, love the organization, I cannot let my hubby know of this :-)
