Among my mom's things that I've enjoyed perusing are a couple of notebooks filled with poems and clippings she cut out, most of them from way back in the 1940's. Some of them have priceless pearls of wisdom; others are just hilarious. I wish I could ask her why she kept a few of them. I'll be sharing more in the days to come, but here's something for you to aspire to. (You might need to click on the picture to make it big enough to read.) I'd be charming & sing in the mornings if I had that waist!)
Or...if my hair and makeup looked like that. :)
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteMakes me curious about what I will leave behind for others to sift through and wonder about...
She looks happy but she is not happy! Ha, Ha!
ReplyDeleteI love old stuff like that - keep sharing!
Hugs,
Vern
My grandmother saved clippings like this and I've been the lucky recipient of many of them. They are priceless gems and most of them ARE very wise.
ReplyDeleteLove that "won't dwell on trouble or entertain fear"...pretty applicable to our current times, wouldn't you say?
Blessings,
Melinda
Oh, I think my kids would commit me if I started singing in the morning!! ha!
ReplyDeleteWe found a similar book in my grandmothers things years ago. She had notes from friends and all sorts of clippings glued in......it was so fun to go through and I thought the same thing...I wished I could ask her about some of them!
I don't know about you and your readers, but I always start the day by saying, "Life, I salute you!" I'm sorta perfect like that. Just so you know. Pretty sweet poem, sweet still the one whose heart it touched.
ReplyDeleteThat waist and that jawline!
