But oh, how important it is not to
What kind of King would come so small
From glory to a humble stall?
That dirty manger is my heart, too
I'll make it a royal throne for You
MANGER THRONE
What kind of King would leave His throne
In Heaven to make this earth His home?
While men seek fame and great renown
In loneliness our King comes down
Jesus, Jesus, precious One
How we thank You that You've come
Jesus, Jesus, precious One
A manger throne for God’s own Son
You left the sound of angels' praise
To come for men with unkind ways
And by this Baby's helplessness
The power of nations is laid to rest
What kind of King would come so small
From glory to a humble stall?
That dirty manger is my heart, too
I'll make it a royal throne for You
My heart is a throne
My heart is a throne for God's own Son

ReplyDeleteA very nice song...thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI'm a Christmas tree until January 1 kind of guy...but then I'm ready to get things back to normal and put away.
Beautiful song! And a great reminder that Christmas is over, but Christ lives in us every day!
ReplyDeletebtw, I'm with you on the tree! Ours would be down by now if my parents weren't still here....it will come down Monday!
Even if I hadn't read the rest of the lyrics, I LOVE the title of the song.
ReplyDeleteI ususally love having the tree and decorations up until New Year's Eve, so we can enjoy them for as long a possible. Since I'm always off on New Year's Day, I take that opprotunity to take everything down and clean. But this year, I was ready to start taking ornaments off the tree Christmas night. Maybe it was the nasty, sticky hot weather that turned me into a bit of a Scrooge this year.
As I was loading the third or fourth ornament into a box, I realized that my mom and dad were coming Saturday to do Christmas, so back on the tree the baubles went!

ReplyDeleteI love your song! And I'm totally with you on the "getting the tree down" thing (but feeling a bit guilty since I just got it up). Have a blessed day - I'm going to go peruse the rest of your blog now!
ReplyDeleteI adore this song, thank you for posting this beautiful video. It is overwhelming when we stop to think about what the Almighty God has done for us, sending His Son to us, to a humble human birth and life, to sacrifice His everything for us. Such love!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful song - I really like Third Day and I have not heard this song before.

Loved it...I have a new song to add to my list of favorites!
ReplyDeleteI am the same way, in fact my tree is already down. I think part of it is that I put the thing up so early. The message though it something I never tire of hearing. Great song.
ReplyDeleteGreat song and such a good message about cherishing the manger and the baby!
ReplyDeleteI usually keep our tree up until after the 1st, then I feel the same way you do! Get that "thing" out of here! LOL
