Shooting Some Darts

Well, I received a fun surprise today. And not only was I humbled to get this Premios Dardo award from AndieJ (thanks!), but I have never even seen it before. I actually wasn't even sure what the name meant, and the print was mighty small on the picture. (Surely it wasn't my eyesight!) As it turns out, it's the Best Blog Darts Thinker Award.

How about that? Maybe it wasn't such a fluke that I advanced to the semi-finals in the annual church staff dart tournament this year!

This award acknowledges the values that every blogger shows in his or her effort to transmit cultural, ethical, literary, and personal values every day.

Here are the rules:

1) Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person who has granted the award and his or her blog link.

2) Pass the award to 15 other blogs who are worthy of this acknowledgment. Contact the bloggers and let them know that they have been chosen for this award.

As much of a rule follower as I am, I really don't care for the pressure of passing awards on, especially to a specific number of people. So many of you have become such dear bloggy friends, and I would certainly be devastated if I hurt anyone's feelings by overlooking them or making them feel they didn't measure up to the award. But I will pass this on to a few folks. These are some folks who come to mind who meet this criteria: some who give me something to think about when they blog, some who stretch/challenge me, and some who motivate me to read, be it fiction, non-fiction, or the Bible. This is certainly not an exhaustive list, however! So in no particular order,
  • Lisa Writes - I love how Lisa's desire is that, whether she's reviewing a book, planning a Bible Study, blogging, or picking up her boys at school, God's glory is manifest in all she does. It stirs me toward the same.
  • Callapidder Days - Katrina's reading challenges help me focus and stay organized in my reading
  • 2nd Cup of Coffee - Linda does her best to make us cultured, whether it's displaying our ugly coffee mugs or keeping us up to date on the latest TV premiere. Of course, yogurt and strep throats are also cultured. . . . (Love ya, Lid!)
  • A Voice for Moms - Mel is a heavy political thinker and isn't hesitant to take a stand for her beliefs and her blog has encouraged me to be a little more astute.
  • Heart of Service - Besides proclaiming her beliefs unashamedly (as well as being my fellow hymn promoter!), I've learned a lot about the foundations of our faith in the historical context from Xandra.
  • The Preacher's Wife - I do wish Lisa would get on fire and say what she's thinking teach some Bible sometimes! Talk about blog darts - she hits the bull's eye on a regular basis. I can't wait to see what she & Missy have to say in their Spectacular Sins Book Club which starts Monday.

There are more I could name, but I'll stop there. My life and my daily walk is enriched because of so many of you. Thank you for being on the other side of my screen!

  1. I'm so glad I can add balance to your smart list because your life would be less complete without knowing that I have an ugly mug. Really, I don't know how you got a long without me up to now. (Shakes head in wonder.)
