Are you are doing Beth Moore's Esther study? Depending on when you started the study after the new year, there's a good chance you are right around the point where Haman's plot to "destroy, kill, and annihilate all the Jews" is revealed and thwarted by Esther. Since that time, as it was decreed by Queen Esther, the Jews have celebrated their deliverance for two days each year at a time called Purim.
This year, the celebration began at sunset yesterday, March 9 and will continue through tomorrow, March 11.
For a great summary and perspective, go here.
What neat timing to be studying the original event as it is is being remembered and celebrated!
Ok this is the first time in days my computer has let me comment on your blog, it has taken 2 tries!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is the next study i have slated, it looks wonderful.

Thanks for the trivia! That is so cool. :-) I'm not doing Beth Moore's study, but have studies Esther before. She was amazing. "For such a time as this!"

Beth
yes, indeed, it is our Israel, too! So celebrate women standing up for Who they Believe and Who they worship in Jesus Christ...the Messiah who opened the way for the gentiles...and I'm very thankful for that!
ReplyDeleteI'm not doing the study on Esther but I do like to pay attention to the Biblical Holidays even though I don't observe them. Thanks for the reminder about Purim.
ReplyDeleteI went to the live study in Houston before she finished the book, but I'm not doing this one. Sounds like you are enjoying it.
