Heaven is on my mind as this weekend marks the first anniversary of my mom's homegoing. In October my dad will have been gone 13 years, and of course, my father-in-law just passed away in August. So many loved ones gathering beyond the sunset, and yet this incredible song by Michael English and the Gaither Vocal Band reminds us that, as sweet as those reunions will be, they pale in comparison to seeing the Lord!
Linda, "What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see..." ..so glad loved ones who have gone on are crying "holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty"..may God's comfort be yours as memories flood your heart. Love Sita
awwww Linda...blessings & much comfort & peace during this difficult time...but as we bow on our knees, & cry HOLY...that grand homecoming seems closer every day. Try to find more comfort in that reunion for your dad, mom & FIL. Even with this mixed emotions of sadness & JOY, may you find a balance in the arms of our beloved Savior!
I love Michael English & joined by the harmony of the Gaithers...just leaves me in awe of His Glory! May the music this weekend flood your soul as you enJOY TSMSS & being in His Holy Presence.
I absolutely love this song. I can't wait to see my mother as I miss her so much. It's been 4 years now but seems like only yesterday. Thank you for posting this one Linda.
I'm in my "fabulous fifties" and my husband and I have been married 25 years. We have a son and a daughter who are both in college. so we are reluctantly entering the empty-nest years. I was an RN in my former (pre-kids) life which comes in handy as I serve in our church's care ministry.
Chatting over a cup of coffee with a friend to encourage and support one another (and share a laugh or even a tear) is one of my favorite things to do.
I have always loved this song and the chorus always thrills my heart...what a meeting that will be!
ReplyDeleteI pray memories of your mom will comfort you during this time of reflection....
