Back in September I introduced you to a fun new series by Janice Thompson with my review of Fools Rush In. Bella is back, along with her boisterous Italian clan, in Swinging on a Star (Revell).
With one wedding successfully coordinated as the new owner of Club Wedd, Bella takes on the planning of a Renaissance-themed wedding. Although the period costumes, food, and decor (including a castle with a moat!) will cost plenty, Bella has been told by the wealthy father of the bride to spare no expense in making his daughter's childhood dream come true, and Bella is determined to make the day a fairy tale come-to-life.
Chaos threatens to erupt as a few chinks appear amidst her careful planning. While she is thrilled that her Aunt Rosa has been chosen by the Food Network to appear in a special feature, the timing couldn't have been worse, as the camera crews are scheduled to arrive the day before the wedding. However, her biggest distraction arises when she discovers that the best man is one of Hollywood's most sought-after and eligible bachelors. When he stays with her family for the ten days before the wedding in order to avoid the papparazi, her anxiety level soars higher than the temperature of Aunt Rosa's oven. Toss in Aunt Rosa and Uncle Laz's bickering, the visiting parrot squawking Bible verses, Bella's starstruck sister, and her beau D.J.'s exuberant family, and the setting is primed for havoc! However, the key ingredient of love smooths out everyone's rough edges and makes for a great read!
I definitely recommend Swinging on a Star, which can be purchased directly from the publisher or from Amazon or your local bookstore.

Linda, you're so kind! Thanks for such a lovely review. I can't wait till book three comes out. The story wraps up in that one. Just wait till you see what happens when Bella's relatives come from Italy for Laz and Rosa's wedding!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a wonderful and joyous read. I wish I could indulge but I have a stack of books way too high with "read by" post-it notes waay too close together!
