I need a weekend to recover from my weekend! What a fun one it was, but I am t-i-r-e-d!
It began Friday about noon when I had the delightful chance to meet up with Sara and her mom for lunch! They were in the area for a dedication of a memorial garden honoring her dear aunt who passed away last spring. It's such fun to meet a bloggy friend in real life; what a special bond there is between believers and bloggers! Here we are at Panera Bread. My only complaint is that it was just too short!
Later that afternoon I headed to our church's Ladies Retreat. It was great. The theme was the Holy Spirit, and our sessions, taught by a handful of ladies from our church, were encouraging and inspiring. During one of our small group discussion times, my group moved outside and sat next to this view:
And I just have to show you non-Texans a close-up of these beautiful bluebonnets!
The retreat concluded with breakfast on Sunday and we drove straight to church. It was an all-day affair for me: a meeting and recap of my boy's mission trip with the the other students and families, and then the Membership class, which I routinely help with. I didn't get home until after 7:00 and didn't even turn on my computer last night! I was wiped out!
BTW, many thanks to Debbie for linking up my TSMSS post on Saturday!
So now I've got to get my day in gear. And I have a pile of books to read/review this week. As my man likes to say, "Onward and sideways!"
Hope you have an awesome day.

it was so much fun meeting up with you!! I wish we had had a whole day to visit and talk!! Hopefully we can get more time when I visit UT with my daughter!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the bluebonnets this weekend. There were places by Wimberley that had fields of them!!!
Glad you had a great retreat!!!
Linda, I was hoping you would post about your ladies' retreat. It sounds like a wonderful topic. And the view of the bluebonnets was lovely. As a non-Texan, it's new for me so thank you.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it fun to meet a blogging friend in person? I agree with your sentiment. There is a special bond between believers and bloggers. I got to spend time with Sassy Granny AKA Kathleen on Sunday. She is a treasure!
And you can count on me anytime to help out with linking up posts. It was my pleasure Linda.
Blessings and love,
Debbie
What a fun time. Beautiful surroundings! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteuntil next time... nel
It sounds like none of us were home this weekend! I was away and got in a bit of hiking and photography. I came home exhausted and sore, and I'm leaving again on Wednesday for an Avon meeting.
ReplyDeleteOnward and sideways! I have to borrow that. Hilarious. Love the bluebonnets.
ReplyDeleteOh, the bluebonnets! I've been gone 20 years and still, I miss the bluebonnets!
