I do believe that our dear sweet Lid has a bit of a sadistic streak! Almost every week the R.D. has a question where we are asked to list one [fill-in-the-blank]. And most of the time, some of us "cheat" and put more than one answer. I can just hear her maniacal laughter. . . ."I'll give you a whole dozen of those, my pretties!"
1. What is one really fast, know-by-heart "go-to" meal to fix in a pinch?
2. What is one item you won't leave home without? (Purse and license do not count.)
Cell phone. (I would add a book, but that would be more than one item. Sigh.)
3. Where is one place you never tire of visiting?
My mother-in-law's home.
4. Share one factoid of your family's history.
We have the same wedding anniversary as my husband's brother, just 11 years apart!
5. Complete this sentence: "Once upon a time I ...."
. . .bemoaned how thin I was and how hard it was to gain weight. Sigh. Oh, for the metabolism of a 20-year-old!
6. If you could win a one year's supply of anything, what would it be?
Sweet tea from Chick-fil-A. Or from Rudy's Bar-B-Q.
7. "One quirky thing you may not know about me is ...."
I like having my fingernails squeezed.
Update to explain what this is: Grasp a finger with the thumb and forefinger of the opposite hand, placing the thumb on top. Gently squeeze the two fingers together, which puts pressure on the finger in the middle. It feels better if someone else does it.
I know. I'm weird. Don't ask me how I discovered it; I was probably holding hands with my man and he inadvertently squeezed the ends of my fingers!
8. You have one dollar in your pocket. What will you buy?
9. "One thing that always makes me laugh is ...."
This is one of my favorites from Mark Lowry.
10. What is one thing you could do today to help yourself reach a personal goal?
Figure out how to exercise without getting a migraine. (I already do Mark Lowry's version of sit-ups!)
11. What is one thing you could do today to bless someone else?
Write a note of appreciation and mail it.
12. What is one thing you're looking forward to soon?
The end of school - only 8 more days!
Well, I think I did it! And not that I would stoop to revenge or anything, this is especially for Lidna, since she loves musicals so much! Ahem.
Go visit 2nd Cup of Coffee and see if some other folks kept their answers to just one thing
Enjoyed the post!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat answers! Mine are about to be posted as well.
ReplyDeleteGreat answers! I'm pretty sure not everyone could give the same answer for #3. : )
ReplyDeletebravo!!! you did much better than I did in giving one answer!!!
ReplyDeleteok, I need an explanation on the fingernail squeezing....
I agree with # 1 - a LOT. 8)
ReplyDeleteI really like #6
Thank you for helping me smile today, 8)
You're killin' me! Too funny. You restrained yourself fairly well, my Pretty. Your #3 is going to get a lot of double takes from readers, for sure! Lid2Lid love.
ReplyDeleteFingernails squeezed? Now that is quirky. How did you ever discover that?
ReplyDeletelove me some Mark!
ReplyDeleteyou're a sweet daughter in law ;)
i have to ask: what is fingernail squeezing?
Only 8 more days??? REALLY? Our kids go until June 18th... *sigh*
ReplyDeleteYour quirky really IS quirky! My son and I wracked our brains trying to come up with something quirky about me... Yours is a good one!!!
And you LOVE to visit you MIL??? I hope one of my kids spouses says that one day! :)
Fingernail squeezing? That is odd LOL. The "One" broadway video felt quite appropriate after that haha! (I know it was your revenge for Lidna, but I watched it too :p)
ReplyDeleteGreat answers! I love the "one" video at the end as well!
ReplyDeleteI love musicals : ) I almost put the video of the cast of Glee singing U2s One on my post but I already had a lot happening in there today. Not as successful as you at the one thing!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet to say your mil's house...I love that answer.
And #5-Amen.
I just love your blog. You are funny, welcoming, and the vertical stripes are very slimming for those of us on the receiving end...right?
ReplyDeleteLove the video of Mark . . .
HI-larious as usual! I'm just going to take your word on the finger nail thingy. LOL.
ReplyDeleteIn a real dinner time crunch, fast food usually wins here.
ReplyDeleteThat's....interesting about the finger squeezing!
regarding #7...
ReplyDeletein eastern modalities the meridians begin or end at the fingertips and tips of toes. that might be one reason. if you like your fingertips squeezed you might like your toes squeezed as well.
also try rubbing the sides of your fingers the length of your fingers. and of course...it feels better when somebody else does it so you can just relax and enjoy. ;)
Happy Wednesday!
I loved this post, and A Chorus Line video made it better! I have the same issue with the "One" rule. Thus I had to write a disclosure for the blog, since I knew I was already going to fail. You must like your MIL.
ReplyDeleteI loved your answers, like always!!
Cae ♥
P.S. I got the book in the mail today, thanks soooo much Lid!!
I love Mark Lowery. That sucker on the bottom of his shoe was priceless!
ReplyDeleteLoved the Mark Lowery video! Being a GRITS but living in Canada, I'd love to be able to tell somebody "take a pill and cook the vegetables" and "fry the chicken." LOL And he was right-on about the cornbread too!
ReplyDeleteLOL! YOu were right....One! Singular Sensation, every little move she makes...now I'll be humming that all day long!
ReplyDeleteGreat answers!
