Caught between the wilderness and civilization, Morrow Little must find her way to true love.
Morrow Little is haunted by the memory of the day her family was torn apart by raiding Shawnee warriors. Now that she is nearly a grown woman and her father is ailing, she must make difficult choices about the future. Several men--ranging from the undesired to the unthinkable--vie for her attentions, but she finds herself inexplicably drawn to a forbidden love that both terrifies and intrigues her. Can she betray the memory of her lost loved ones--and garner suspicion from her friends--by pursuing a life with him? Or should she seal her own misery by marrying a man she doesn't love?
This sweeping tale of romance and forgiveness will envelop you as it takes you from a Kentucky fort through the vast wilderness of the West.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Laura Frantz credits her 100-year-old grandmother as being the catalyst for her fascination with Kentucky history. Frantz's family followed Daniel Boone into Kentucky in 1792 and settled in Madison County, where her family still resides. Frantz is the author of The Frontiersman's Daughter and currently lives in the misty woods of Washington state with her husband and two sons.
MY THOUGHTS:
I enjoyed this novel. While I thought the first book, The Frontiersman's Daughter moved a bit slowly and contained way too many extraneous details, this one is much tighter and kept my interest. (Although connected in time and setting, each book is a stand-alone.) Morrow is a delightful character. The challenges and loneliness of living in the Kentucky wilderness plus the fears and dangers sparked by the rugged environment and tribal conflicts made me so glad I'm a modern girl! Laura's devotion to her father is heartwarming, and her fears and concerns tugged at my heart. I definitely recommend this book.
Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from Revell as part of their Blogger Review program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. The author's family story sounds as enticing as her fiction plot!

Even if I do, I'll be out of commission again soon. Having 2 discs replaced and 3 bones fused in my back on August 3. Recovery will be long but the thought that by this time next year I might in much less pain is something to look forward to!
Thanks for stopping by and thinking about me.
Have a wonderful day!!!!!
