TSMSS - Two Classics

Thursday night I took my girl and three of her friends to the Make A Difference concert with Jason Gray, Toby Mac, Third Day, and Michael W Smith, as well as Max Lucado. My girl loves Toby Mac and the tickets were her birthday present back in August. I enjoyed all of them, but my favorite was Michael W Smith. And Thursday was his birthday so we all got to sing Happy Birthday to him! I was thrilled when he sang Friends. He introduced it with by saying that he and his wife, Debbie, wrote it "many years ago. And I had no idea that I would be singing it for the REST OF MY LIFE!" Well, Smitty, that's what happens when you write a classic!

And I can't resist posting this benediction. My girl's choir concert was earlier this week, and they joined forces with another school -- highly convenient since the two choir directors are married to each other! This was the final song that the other school's choir sang at the end of the evening, a tradition at all of their concerts.. I love it, and it's as much fun to sing as it is to listen to!

  1. Toby Mac! Toby Mac! Toby Mac!

I like, My Father's House the best, but he's got some other really great songs, too. The kids at church rock the building with them sometimes.

  4. Wow; that sounds like a wonderful concert. I love Michael W. Smith's song "Friends". The words are so true and I never tire of hearing it.

A beautiful bendiction I might add.

    Blessings and love,
    Debbie

  6. We got to see them last Saturday in Atlanta.
I agree my favorite was Michael W. Smith.
I, personally, was disappointed that Max Lucado didn't speak more. Like an altar call or something.

  7. I've loved both of these songs from way back. What a great two to share today, Linda! And you're right, singing The Lord Bless You is as much fun as listening to it. We sing it at my church and it is always good (although we don't sound as good as the video here!).

  12. The choir song was beautiful. I love the way 2 separate groups can flow together so well. Also liked the non-traditional stance. Like I said...BEAUTIFUL!
