TSMSS - A Classic from my Teens

When I was a teenager, contemporary Christian music was in its infancy. As I've shared before Evie Tornquist (now Evie Karlsson) was one of the very first singers that I remember hearing on the Christian radion station and enjoying. I have been searching for this song for well over a year and have finally discovered someone who posted it relatively recently. This might possibly be my favorite of her many songs. It has such a great message.

My weekend's not complete without Amy's Then Sings My Soul Saturday! Won't you join me?

  1. I remember Evie, but I don't remember this song. I remember "Mirror" and "Come on Ring Those Bells".

    Have a great weekend.

  5. I have never heard of her either. I am so glad that we now have so many artists and songs and radio stations to hear wholesome Christian music compared to when we were kids.

"When I think I'm going under, part the waters, Lord."
    Yes, please!

  6. This song brings back so many emotional memories for me. I loved Evie and had a couple of her albums. I worked in a Christian camp during my highschool/early college summers and one year her song Give Them All (one of my favorites) was our theme song. That was a difficult summer for reasons I won't go into here but at the end a camp friend made a plaque for me with these words inscribed-'When I think I"m going under part the waters Lord.' I still have that piece of wood some 33 years later. Thanks for sharing!

  7. I'm happy that you've found the song too. I had encountered moments like that when I hear only snippets of the songs or sometimes I remember the title, it takes a while to find it. ☺ I've never heard of her too. Thanks for sharing.

  9. I know this voice, but not this song. (Which I like.) Most of my Christian music came from PTL and generally I listened rather than watched, so looking at photos of Evie didn't help. She has a gorgeous voice!
