Thursdays seem to be a random day on the blog lately. . . . Here's what has crossed my mind and my path lately.
November is National Alzheimer's Awareness Month and National Family Caregivers Month. This is such an insidious and heartbreaking disease that affects so many. And once seen only in the elderly, Early Onset Alzheimer's, which is the label given to the disease when it strikes before the age of 65 seems to be more prevalent, disabling folks in their 50's and even in their 40's. Or maybe I'm just more aware of it. Visit Alzheimer's Association website to learn more. And please pray for and reach out to support those you know who are impacted by this disease.
On a lighter note, I smiled with delight when I walked into Starbucks last night for my weekly hour of reading while my girl was at her small group Bible Study. Peppermint Mochas are back! And the skinny tall one is only 100 calories. Of course, we won' talk about the whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles I let them add on top. It was the first one of the season, after all!
I know several dads who only have daughters. I had to laugh and share this with them when I saw this on a friend's Facebook wall:
Today on day 3 of the Giving Thanks Challenge, I'm giving thanks for books. It is no secret that I am a huge bookworm, and I have been for as long as I can remember. There are few things as satisfying as curling up and becoming engrossed in a good story.
Have a great Thursday!
Hi Linda! Hope all is well with you! I've been reading your blog, sorry I haven't commented much lately. I love peppermint mochas too! Yay! I'm thinking the dads with doctors comic will ring pretty true in our house in a few years! haha Enjoy your day!

The peppermint mocha looks so good, but alas I don't like coffee. Wish I did.
ReplyDeleteYep, that would be my husband. I heard him telling someone the other day, there is no man good enough for his daughters, not even the Apostle Paul if he were here today. lol
Starbucks holiday flavors are the best. I too love reading, ever since I was a little kid. I enjoyed your blog and your insights. I will be a regular visitor.
ReplyDeleteHa ha Linda, I love that little sign about Guns....may have to steal that! :) Thanks for reminding everyone about the evils of Alzheimer's...yes you are right it's insidious and heartbreaking!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your care and support for our family! Praying for your sister also!
