1. Did March come in like a lion or was it something less ferocious in your neck of the woods?
March is being really mild so far, as were January and February, for the most part! We've already hit 90 a time or two, and we've had lots of days in the 70's and low 80's. We've had a few cold spells, but nothing extended. In fact, I've already been seeing some bluebonnets, and it's a month early for that!
2. Speaking of lions, which one's your film favorite...The Cowardly Lion (Wizard of Oz), Mufasa (The Lion King), Elsa (Born Free), or Alex (Madagascar)? You may notice I left Aslan off the list. Including him would have made this question way too easy for many of you.
I guess I'd say The Cowardly Lion, since Wizard of Oz is the only one of those movies I particularly like! It's pretty evident to those who read my blog much that I'm not an animal person, and talking animals appeal even less!
3. What's your favorite spot from which to view the sunrise or sunset?
Sunrise - bed! (Although it was worth getting up when I was at the Grand Canyon years ago!) Sunset - anywhere over water.
4. To what extent is knowledge power and to what extent is truth power? What's the difference?
(Disclaimer: My thoughts on this one are not directed toward our lovely hostess of Wednesday Hodgepodge, Joyce!)
I'm going to pass on this one. I really dislike statements of "_______ is power." Why do people always focus on power? Why don't we concern ourselves more with love and mercy? Just wondering.
5. What's something peculiar you've seen recently?
You would think living in central Texas where Keep Austin Weird is the local mantra that it would be easy to come up with something, but I can't really think of anything off the top of my head.
6. Bottled water...your thoughts?
Convenient but certainly not a necessity. I never drink it at home. Only if we're out somewhere and I need water to be portable.
7. What's your strongest sense?
My sense of responsibility. If you mean of the physical senses -- taste, touch, smell, hearing, and seeing -- I'd say it's a toss-up between smell and taste.

Next week is our Spring Break. I think it is pure genius that this weekend is the switch to Daylight Savings Time and we have a whole week to adjust--and enjoy the sun going down later--before we have to do the morning routines. So sorry for those of you who don't get your break until later. Yet another reason to be a Texan!
Yesterday I reviewed Chasing the Sun, the latest book by Tracie Peterson, and the first in her new Land of the Lone Star series. What a delightful surprise last night to have Tracie stop by and leave a comment thanking me for my review and offering to give a copy of this book to THREE of my readers! Scroll down or click here to leave a comment on that post to enter the drawing for the giveaway. Three winners will be drawn from all entries received by Sunday 3/11/12 at 8:00 pm CDT. US Residents only, please.
I feel like my body catches up with the clock. I wake early but the clock will tell me its an hour later : ) I love more daylight in the day. Enjoy your break!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that daylight savings time starts this weekend - I love it! I don't mind getting up when it's still a bit dark outside ... I love watching the sun rise. And I definitely love having more daylight hours after dinner. In the middle of the winter, it felt like it was time to go to bed after dinner because it had been dark for so long by then. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI like Daylight saving time better-after my body gets adjusted to it. I need the daylight hours!! I just wish they would leave the time alone.
ReplyDeleteYes...sunsets from the Grand Canyon...PRICELESS! I'm not a fan of DST because it's so light in the morning when I'm trying to sleep. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, we have Spring Break as well. I didn't think about the bonus of adjusting to DST!! Thanks for that tip!!
ReplyDeletehey linda! please don't enter me, just wanted you to know, you've been tagged! enjoy and be blessed, http://karathewriter.blogspot.com/2012/03/ive-been-tagged.html
ReplyDeleteI loved the Cowardly Lion too. I agree 100% with your sunset comment...we have graduation exams next week and then Spring Break. I cannot wait.
ReplyDeleteIt takes me awhile to adjust to the one hour sleep change...At least, our son will be home from college on break! Thanks for the chance to win this book that is the first in her
