I have been really convicted lately by how important it is for us as believers to live holy lives that are noticeably different from those around us. Not in a weird, in-your-face manner, but quietly following Christ and living by a different standard. One of the most dangerous lies that Satan tells the church is that our flaws make us able to relate more to unbelievers. All that does is trample grace, numb us to our sin, and make a mockery of our beliefs, causing others to stumble and/or wonder if we really believe what we say we do. While I am certainly not advocating a legalistic, hypocritical lifestyle, I do think it is important for us to heed the Scriptures which command us, But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: "Be holy, because I am holy." (1 Peter 1:15-16)
I have always loved this song by Steve Green. What a beautiful reminder that our faithful "lives we live inspire them to obey. Oh, may all who come behind us find us faithful!"
Please continue to pray for Amy, who hosts this great meme, as she mourns the recent loss of her dad and helps her sweet mom adjust.
Preach it, Linda! I agree with you 100%. We are to be set apart, so we are to be different and NOT change for others. Steve Green is one of my favorites! His songs have so much meaning to them.
