Wednesday Hodgepodge.

Guten Morgen! It's great to go on vacation but it's great to come home as well! I'm happy to be linking up again with Joyce for the Wednesday Hodgepodge!

1. I included this quote (attributed to William H. Danforth) in my blog post yesterday... "The best cure for a sluggish mind is to disturb its routine." When was the last time you 'disturbed your routine' and how'd you do it?

Well, this was an easy one to start with! I went to Germany for two weeks! That definitely turned my routine upside down!

2. What's your favorite fried food indulgence?

My homemade chicken fried steak and the little "bites" I make that were a tradition growing up (bits of the breading that get fried in a clump (about the size of a walnut)--no meat, just crunchy fried goodness!

3. Did you have an allowance as a kid? What did you do with it? Do you give your own kids an allowance?

No and no.

4. What's something you wish you knew more about?

Computer html. But I don't wish it enough to study it and figure it out!

5. Is there anything you feel too old to do anymore? If so, what?

I feel like I'm too old to have to deal with my face breaking out, but I still get pimples them periodically. The worst are the ones that crop up in an eyelash pore on my lower lid. I had more acne in my 40's than I ever had in my teens.

6. What's a song you think has a great first line?

I love songs and know a ton of them, but of course, this question made all the first lines completely vanish from my memory!

7. Who are you writing to/for when you create a blog post? In other words...as you write, who is the audience in your head?

Most of the time it's the folks that I am aware read my blog. Sometimes it's an imaginary audience. LOL

8. Insert your own random thought here.

I'm back from Germany and it was a wonderful trip! Germany is a beautiful country. So many quaint buildings and winding roads. I felt like I had been transported to a story book!

  1. I'm so glad you enjoyed your trip! Foreign travel definitely gets the brain going in new directions : )

I put the first song that popped into my head but I'm listening to Wayne Watson this morning and he has some good first lines!

  3. I have done some traveling in Germany too. The countryside is beautiful! My ancestors are German, most were from the southwestern part of the country, near the french border. Alsace-Lorraine region.
It's always wonderful to travel and see new places, and it's always wonderful to return home! Right?

  6. Oh, how fun! Germany is near the top of the list on the places I'd like to visit!

    Chicken Fried Steak - yum!

I felt that way about # 6 (song) but went through a few songs on my Ipod until I found something meaningful. Why does it just disappear right when you need it?

  7. Wow! a trip to Germany, how wonderful!

Looks like both of us are interested in HTML but, like you, I'm not willing to put the time into it.

    Thanks for stopping by!
