As Carly chases down every lead in a desperate search to find the baby, her newfound faith is pushed to its limits.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

A former Long Beach, California, police officer of twenty-two years, Janice Cantore worked a variety of assignments, including patrol, administration, juvenile investigations, and training. She's always enjoyed writing and published two short articles on faith at work for Cop and Christ and Today's Christian Woman before tackling novels. A few years ago, she retired to a house in the mountains of Southern California, where she lives with three Labrador retrievers, Jake, Maggie, and Abbie.

Janice writes suspense novels designed to keep readers engrossed and leave them inspired. Accused is the first book in the Pacific Coast Justice series, featuring Carly Edwards.

MY THOUGHTS

After reading Janice Cantore's debut novel, Accused (reviewed here), I added this new author to my list of ones to watch and eagerly delved into this second novel. Cantore's experience as a police officer provides authenticity to her stories, and Abducted is packed with adrenaline and suspense. Well-rounded characters who grapple with faith and relationships in their private as well as their professional lives add depth to this story. My one frustration with this book is the excessive backstory which interrupted the action at several points; the attempts to refresh or inform the reader of connections to incidents or characters from the first novel were a bit drawn out. Beyond that, Abducted is a solid offering, and I eagerly anticipate the release of book three, Avenged in April!
