A Spooky Hodgepodge

1. What's something you're dealing with that might be described as tricky?

What we've been doing in our house for the past week or so: putting in flooring and getting some of our carpets restretched. There are only so many places you can put furniture (and books out of bookcases, etc.!) when almost every room is impacted. I've been wishing Mary Poppins would show up and just levitate everything up to the ceiling for a bit!

2. What's your treat of choice?

Dark-chocolate covered almonds. Or homemade chocolate chip & pecan cookies.

3. Did you/will you carve a jack-o-lantern this month? Which real (living or dead) or fictional 'Jack' would you most like to meet in person? Why?

No jack-o-lanterns for me. I did it once, and cleaning out that slimy pumpkin wasn't worth the hassle! LOL

I googled the name Jack and didn't find anyone that I particularly want to meet.

4. In your opinion, what's the grossest sounding word in the English language?

Splat.

5. When did your heart last skip a beat?

Probably while I was writing this. One of the joys of having a heart murmur!

6. Monster Mash by Bobby 'Boris' Picket, Michael Jackson's Thriller, Werewolves of London by Warren Zevon, or Ray Parker Jr.'s Ghostbusters...your favorite 'scary' tune?

None of those. I love this and don't think of it as scary, but it does work for a great scary tune: Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor.

7. It was a dark and stormy night when______________________________.

. . .the electricity went out in the middle of a thunderstorm.

8. Insert your own random thought here.

I have always loved poetry. One of my favorites for this time of year is Little Orphant Annie by James Whitcomb Riley.

The Gobble-uns 'll git you
Ef you
Don't
Watch
Out!

  1. I love that rhyme too : ) We need to have our floors redone, but just the thought of it makes my head spin. We have so much heavy furniture. Ugh.
