Joann Bischof once again writes a compelling story that drew me in from the opening pages. Bischof is an amazing wordsmith whose prose brings setting and characters to vibrant life, and I was transported to nineteeenth-century Appalachia as I read. The Sons of Blackbird Mountain is alternately turbulent and tender, as heartache and struggle vie with grace, redemption, and love. I was captivated by the many facets of this novel and the beauty in the midst of pain and sorrow. Don't miss this stirring and inspiring tale.
