Multitasking the Hodgepodge

I always love when I have a chance to join Joyce for the Wednesday Hodgepodge!

1. What news story are you following right now?

The rain that we are finally getting in Central Texas!

2. What's the last thing you wanted but didn't get?

A solid night's sleep.

3. May 28th is National Hamburger Day...when did you last have a hamburger? Other than your own kitchen or BBQ grill, where is your favorite place to go for a hamburger? And for all you non-meat eaters out there...when you're invited to a cookout what is the one side dish you hope is on the menu?

I had a hamburger a couple of weeks ago at Chili's, I think. Theirs aren't as good as they used to be, though. The best one I've had recently is the Bacon Cheeseburger at BJ's. Although I get mine with Swiss cheese instead of cheddar.

4. How have your priorities changed over time?

I'm less concerned with the superficial and more focused on the eternal.

5. What's a favorite memory with your grandparents?

My paternal grandmother was wonderful. (My grandfather died when I was two.) I remember playing Crazy 8 and Scrabble and Canasta with her and being her "bedfellow" when we would visit her in her tiny apartment before she went into the nursing home.

6. On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being fantastic!), how good are you at multitasking? Share an example.

I'm a mom! LOL I used to be a 10+ but I'm slowing down and might just be an 8 or 9 now. I am always aware of the time and what needs to happen next, know where my family is and if they need something, be blogging, cooking, running errands, etc., and keeping up with a game or two on my phone.

7. How would you summarize your highs and lows for the month of May?

Highs - my kids coming home from college. Low - will be saying goodbye to my girl Saturday morning as she heads off to her fun summer camp job out of state!

8. Insert your own random thought here.

I loved this. Makes me miss my big brother.

A BJ's opened here recently and I haven't tried it yet. By the looks of that burger...I MUST!!

You got rain? Here in the Coastal Bend of TX...just a sprinkle. But we did get some a little over a week ago...hoping for more.

Sweet! I love the random comment too. And doesn't it seem like a revolving door at home with kids coming home from school, and then head out for camp, jobs, etc. ? Such busy lives! But, it's all good.

I have very similar memories of my Grandmother, do people even play canasta anymore?
Loved your quote!
