Right Between the Eyes

This poem was read in our worship service this morning. Powerful and convicting. . .

My Friend

My friend, I stand in judgment now,
And feel that you're to blame somehow.
On Earth I walked with you day by day,
And never did you pint the way.

You knew the Lord in truth and Glory,
But never did you tell the story.
My knowledge then was very dim,
You could have led me safe to Him.

Though we lived togther here on Earth,
You never told me of the second birth.
And now I stand this day condemed,
Because you failed to mention Him.

You taught me many thigs, that's true;
I called you "friend" and trusted you.
But I learn now that it's too late,
And you could have kept me from this fate.

We walked by day and talked by night,
And yet you showed me not the light.
You let me live, and love, and Die,
You knew I'd never live on high.

Yes, I called you "friend" in life,
And trusted you through joy and strife.
And yet on coming to this dreaful end,
I cannot now call you "my friend".

It brought this to mind, which Renee Swope recently referred to in her Proverbs 31 Radio minute.

He says it hasn't changed his mind, but it obviously made a huge impact. A seed was sown, and God promises: So shall My Word be that goeth forth out of My mouth: it shall not return unto Me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. Isaiah 55:11

Oh Lord, give me a sense of urgency and boldness!

Wow! That was very interesting and very humbling. He's right, we have the most important thing and I don't make it my priority to tell everyone I can because I'm afraid it'll be uncomfortable. Lord forgive me and help me.

Linda, thanks for the poem and video! Both were convicting me! I believe God is calling me to something! I am waiting patiently on him to show me, but I also need to be proclaiming his truth still! Thanks alot!
