Those Were The Days!

I was purging the other day - papers, that is! - and ran across something I had kept when my kids were little. Apparently written by an anonymous two-year-old, it's hilariously (and frighteningly!) accurate. I'm sure you've seen it before, but I had to share it for my bloggy friends such as Natalie, Kelly, Missy, Amanda, and the rest of you still in this parenting stage!

TODDLER'S CREED

If I want it,
IT'S MINE.

If I gave it to you and I change my mind,
IT'S MINE.

If I can take it away from you,
IT'S MINE.

If I had it a little while ago,
IT'S MINE.

If it's MINE, it will no longer belong to anyone else,
no matter what.

If we are building something together,
all the pieces are MINE.

If it looks like MINE,
IT'S MINE.

(And please don't think you'll ever
change a Toddler's mind about it!)

Maybe driving lessons aren't so bad after all!

  2. You know what made me laugh?

Teyla's most distinct word right now is "my," which is usually said with a scowl as she grabs something away from her siblings.

    Truer words....

  3. Fun-ny!! It's a shame some adults still feel that way.

  4. Ok, why is it that in my late 40's, I still want to act that way sometimes! LOL!
Driving lessons are not so bad, comparatively. They are going on over here too!
