TSMSS - Wonderful Grace of Jesus

I remember singing - and loving! - this song in the junior high department at church when I was growing up. It was always fun to split into the two different parts on the chorus.

WONDERFUL GRACE OF JESUS

Wonderful grace of Jesus,
Greater than all my sin;
How shall my tongue describe it,
Where shall its praise begin?
Taking away my burden,
Setting my spirit free;
For the wonderful grace of Jesus reaches me.

REFRAIN:
Wonderful the matchless grace of Jesus,
Deeper than the mighty rolling sea;
Wonderful grace, all sufficient for me, for even me.
Broader than the scope of my transgressions,
Greater far than all my sin and shame,
O magnify the precious Name of Jesus.
Praise His Name!

Wonderful grace of Jesus,
Reaching to all the lost,
By it I have been pardoned,
Saved to the uttermost,
Chains have been torn asunder,
Giving me liberty;
For the wonderful grace of Jesus reaches me.

Wonderful grace of Jesus,
Reaching the most defiled,
By its transforming power,
Making him God’s dear child,
Purchasing peace and heaven,
For all eternity;
And the wonderful grace of Jesus reaches me.

  1. I always enjoy the songs you choose Linda. The harmonizing is so good. I love their sound and I too remember singing this song growing up. My parents sang beautifully and had us three kids all harmonize while driving in the car. It's funny because none of us "kids" inherited my parents' good voices; lol.

    Blessings,
    Debbie

  3. This was always a song I loved too.I saw Debbie's comments and had to chuckle... we did the same thing, the 3 kids singing along with my parents in the car. I especially remember the guys deeper voices on certain parts.

    It's always such a blessing to hear the old songs, we don't hear a lot of them much anymore and I still miss that music.

    Thanks for sharing!

    Really appreciate the harmony and songs of great quality you choose!

    I think many times when we enJOY the song so much we forget to look at the words or the meaning of them. Real power in these words. Thanks for your visit.
