MY THOUGHTS

Tracie Peterson completes her Land of the Lone Star series with another fantastic read. (Click the titles to read my reviews of the earlier books, Chasing the Sun and Touching the Sky.) Set in Texas in the early days following the Civil War, this is a thoroughly enjoyable story that portrays the many challenges of the times. Peterson once again creates wonderful characters with believable struggles and emotions who must learn where to turn for the strength to sustain them when faced with life-altering events. Carissa and Tyler (and little Gloria!) captured my heart--which is a testimony to the grace worked in Carissa's life, because she was a bit of a pain when she appeared in an earlier book! I highly recommend this book and series and think Tracie Peterson should be considered an Honorary Texan!
