MY THOUGHTS

Julie Lessman wraps up her Winds of Change series with another stirring story. Annie captured my heart. I ached for the hurts she experienced and understood her desire to spread her wings and experience life and love, but my mama-heart cringed at her choices! I held my breath as she seemed determined to live life on the edge. The hero, Steven, is a member of the O'Connor clan, which the books in this series (as well as the previous The Daughters of Boston series) have featured. Steven is the last O'Connor sibling who is still single, and he is determined to stay that way. Set in the days of Prohibition, this novel portrays the age-old tug of war between good and bad, between following the crowd and following God, between condemnation and redemption. The message of faith is beautifully woven throughout the novel in the journeys of both Annie and Steve. Plenty of surprises await as the story progresses, and I couldn't put this one down. This book is my favorite of both series, and I hate to say good-bye to the loving (albeit contentious at times!) O'Connor clan. Curl up with A Love Surrendered on a cool evening; it will warm your heart!
