TSMSS - An Oldie but Goodie

In the early days of contemporary Christian music (30 plus years ago!), Dallas Holm was a popular singer and composers. Of course, Rise Again is arguably his most familiar classic. But he had other songs that were also well-known.

Here's one that I haven't heard in many years but have always loved. It's a beautiful reassurance that, no matter what happens, we are never out of God's loving care.

I'VE NEVER BEEN OUT OF HIS CARE
Words & Music by Dallas Holm

The eyes of God are upon me,
He sees everything I do.
The arms of God are around me,
They keep me safe and secure.

And He knows where I am
Every hour of every day
He knows each thought I think
He knows each word that I might say.
And although there've been times
I stepped out of His will
I've never been out of His care.

This changing world alarms me,
With war, with sin, with strife.
But my loving Father charms me,
With joy, with peace, and with life.

Blessings Linda...I listened to Dallas Holm also and what a voice!
What a beautiful selection this is and one I needed to hear! The message and your intro give me exactly the reassurance of being in His care. Thanks!

I saw your comment at Cathy's before TSMSS was posted and I thought, now that's wise...but I had to be in church so I missed out on many TSMSSers. The 3 I visited though were oldies but goodies!

I'm so glad I did not miss this. EnJOY a wonderful Sunday in God's loving care!

this is a very pretty song! I'm probably too young for it but I love how the simple words of worship stick with you for so long.

I don't think I've ever heard this one, Linda. The sentiment is so beautiful--we are never out of his care. I can't be reminded of that too often. It gives me such hope and assurance. Thanks for sharing this song.

I really enjoyed Dallas Holmes. I had all his albums but lent them to someone and never got them back. Thanks for reminding me about him, I'm going to look into getting some of his songs for my ipod.
