A Dozen Random Answers

It's time once again to be Random a Dozen times! Lidna at 2nd Cup of Coffee always provides us with some fun questions.

This picture is a clarification for question 1:

1. How do you feel about "Gladiator" sandals, also called "Roman" or "Jesus" sandals? A fashion yea or nay?

Why anyone voluntarily wears ankle shackles is beyond my comprehension!

2. What is your favorite pizza?

We always order Papa John's, 1/2 pepperoni, 1/2 cheese. But if I go to a buffet, I love getting one with pineapple and ham.

3. There are plans in the works to sell roughly 1,000 items from Star Trek: The Experience in Las Vegas. This means you could buy Picard's chair for your family room. If not a Star Trek item, what prop, background, set, etc. from what TV or movie would you buy if you could?
[Ex: Hurley's "I Love my Shih tzu" shirt from LOST, the plantation home "Tara" from Gone With the Wind, or Tracy's tambourine from the Partridge Family.]

The house from The Waltons. I absolutely heart that big front porch.

4. Name a local food or restaurant that your area is famous for.

Chuy's (pronounced Chew-ies) is an Austin original. They are starting to expand just a bit, but we had them first! You can see their "Food Fullosophy" here. My man loves their Green Chile Stew (and in September, they use fresh peppers from Hatch, NM). I love their taquitos and creamy jalapeno sauce - it's like a spicy ranch. Other signature dishes include Enchiladas made with Blue Corn Tortillas, Chile Rellenos, and more! And their T-shirts are a hoot! This is one of my favorites. (The fish with sunglasses is sorta their mascot.)

5. What is your current favorite snack?

Raw almoonds or pecans. Also Jelly Belly's Dr. Pepper jelly beans.

6. Hypothetical: You are required to be a reality show contestant. Which show would you choose based on your probability of success? (You cannot choose "none.")

A. Dancing with the Stars
B. Biggest Loser
C. Survivor

Can't imagine why Lid thinks any of us would try not to answer this question. I would have to say B. DWTS is out because I am way too uncoordinated. And the idea of Survivor makes me shudder.

7. On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being uninhabitable and 10 being cleanliness that meets the standards of OCD, how clean is your vehicle's interior?

I guess about an 8. It doesn't get vacuumed like it should, but we don't have stuff cluttering it up. It just gets leaves and various other pieces of nature tracked in. Especially now, with the oak pollen turning everything yellow!

8. It doesn't feel like Spring until _________.

I don't need a sweater when the sun goes down. And bluebonnets.

9. Something that made you laugh really hard recently is ____.

10. Tell me about a goal you're working toward.

Getting a pile of about 18 books read for reviews! Guess "I'm Just a Girl Who Can't Say No!" -- to books!

11. Share a thought-provoking or inspiring quote this week.
Cheap grace is the grace we bestow on ourselves. Cheap grace is the preaching of forgiveness without requiring repentance, baptism without church discipline, Communion without confession.... Cheap grace is grace without discipleship, grace without the cross, grace without Jesus Christ, living and incarnate."
— Dietrich Bonhoeffer (The Cost of Discipleship)

12. Name one thing that you do as a parent that you absolutely know will make your kids happy. If you're not a parent, feel free to substitute "friend" or nomenclature that works for you.

Make chocolate chip cookies.

hahahaha, my word verification:
arewina...pronounced as "r whina" brings on thoughts of Tiger Woods after the Masters whining about "I came here to win"...didn't hear any appreciation about the crowds giving him respect or thanks for just being there...

Good quote and I like the porch on the Walton house too!

I thought about the Walton's porch too :-) But couldn't find a good photo.
Love the quote; we're reading This Momentary Marriage and he includes lots of quotes by Bonhoeffer.
You made me crave some good Mexican. I haven't even been able to find tortilla chips lately :-( I used the last of what I had last week for a yummy chicken tortilla soup I made.
I saw that clip -- TOO FUNNY!

I detest blogger. Your blog won't fully load and reading against that stripped background without the white is a royal pain. Lucky for you I also keep you on reader and your comment box pops out.

#5 -- I should have said pecans! And, since I drink Dr. Pepper, I don't need it in my jelly beans.

#9 -- I didn't laugh. I was seriously appalled. If she is that stupid, shame on her for not doing something about it. If she isn't that stupid, shame on her for portraying beautiful women in that light.

#10 -- I am forcing myself to stick to what I can legitimately read, but sometimes I over-estimate myself!

#11 -- as soon as I started reading I knew where the quote came from! I read that book at least 6 years ago, but I spent days revisiting that quote.

I don't think I've ever eaten at Chuy's but your writing about it made me want to try it!

I was thinking about Flashback Friday just now and wondering what this week's topic will be!

I LOVE the Walton's old house. As a matter of fact, I used to love that show. Strange it isn't shown on reruns...at least not around here.

As for your YouTube clip..WAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
