April's First Random Dozen

No, not the April 1st Random Dozen!

1. Define a great relationship.

One where both individuals are fully committed to Christ and to each other (i.e., not one-sided), giving 100+% without keeping "score," able to share vulnerably and intimately, and able to laugh together.

2. Why is it called a "drive-through" if you have to stop? (Real question: What was the last food/drink you purchased at a drive-through?)

Late lunch Tuesday from Chick-fil-A.

3. As I type this, the Butler Bulldogs are getting ready to play in the NCAA championship game. Every Hoosier is hysterical about this except me. So in honor of the Bulldogs ... what is your favorite breed of dog? (I tried.)

4. If you had to move to a state besides the one you currently live in, where would you move?

Virginia or one of the Carolinas - beautiful scenery, rich in historical landmarks.

5. If you could change anything about the way you were raised, what would it be?

More grace and authenticity. Less legalism.

6. Who's the funniest person you know?

I believe that would be our very own Lid!

7. Did you get enough sleep last night?

Not nearly. I have been wiped out today (Tuesday).

8. What's the first thing you thought about this morning?

A friend whose mom is in ICU and on a ventilator following a heart attack. And the dear, sweet, music minister -- who married us, loved God and those of us he led, and dedicated our boy -- who took his place in the heavenly choir Monday night.

9. Grilled or Fried? --HONESTLY

Meat - fried. Vegetables - grilled. HONESTLY!

10. Are you afraid of the dark?

Only to the extent that I'm afraid I'm going to trip and fall!

11.When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A nurse.

12. If you had one word to describe yourself , what would you choose?

Loyal to a fault.
