ABOUT THE BOOK (from the publisher):
There is nothing more devastating than the death of a loved one. And whether it comes suddenly and unexpectedly, or at the end of a long and painful illness, every death is experienced anew, a shocking loss that takes your breath away and leaves you disoriented and lost.
Grief is mysterious, misunderstood, and experienced differently from individual to individual. Yet there are certain universal elements, and in this compassionate epistolary handbook on grief, a pastor offers comfort and understanding to a man suffering a profound loss, showing grief as a healthy process that God can use to mend broken hearts.
Simple, profound, personal, compassionate. When You Lose Someone You Love tenderly guides you through sorrow to peace and, eventually, renewed joy.

MY THOUGHTS:
This is a gentle and encouraging book which will be helpful to many folks experincing grief. Chapters include When Death Comes, The Tides of Grief, The Pitfalls of Grief, and The Depth of His Love, among others. Since each chapter is written in the form of a letter, they are brief and easy to read. Those experiencing grief often have a hard time focusing on one thing for very long, and this book provides truth in small doses.

This is a fantastic book in dealing with the aftermath of a loved one's death.
I worked with a mental health counselor once who often suggested this book as an aid to grieving clients -- and to the families of grieving clients. It is really much better to study grief BEFORE you need the lessons.
