The kids and I are back in Houston for a few days so I could drive my MIL to and from her cataract operation.
Tonight she treated us to dinner and on the way home she also paid for me to fill up my van in appreciation for my help.
I was most grateful and tried to tell her so. But somehow something happened between the brain and the mouth. . . .
"Thanks, Mom, for the dinner and gas."

Oh, that's funny! Sounds exactly like something I would say. I have a friend that we used to tease him about "opening mouth and exchanging feet":)
Blessings,
Sherry

Too funny! I can so hear that and then the laughter afterwards!
Another laugh from Lidna! I love it.
You are just so funny this week. How could we make it without the ability to laugh at ourselves?
Priceless!! :)
Isn't it wonderful to have caring parents who are giving and sacrificial. I don't care how old I get, I'll always appreciate the gift of a tank full of gas!

So was it the surgery or the gas that brought tears to her eyes...
