But every time I hear (and watch!) Sandi Patty sing this song, it absolutely gives me chills. In 1983 (I know, some of you were in elementary or middle school or - gasp! - just being born!!) I had just graduated from college, and a wonderful, revolutionary new invention called a VCR had just come out. Sandi Patti, as she was known in those days due to a typo on her first album that "stuck", put out a video and I used to watch this song over and over trying to learn the sign language, which adds so much expression and meaning to this incredible song.
Here is a version of Sandi singing it a few years ago. For those of you who are not familiar with gospel music hisotry, the woman with the gigantinormous earrings who they keep showing is Dottie Rambo; she wrote the song and is now beholding Him, face to face in all of His glory!
There are more songs waiting to bless you over at Amy's blog! Better yet, why don't you join in the fun and worship and share one of your favorites as well?

Very beautiful!
Thanks for sharing.
Blessings!
In His amazing grace,
Jill
She's a local girl around here. I believe it was Johnny Carson who called her "The Voice." I know she's great, but her style is not my taste; however, the song is meaningful.
Linda,
Beautiful, my friend. I can't wait to behold His face!
Blessings to you!
I love me some Dottie Rambo. I can't tell you how many musicals I was in while in children's and youth choir that were written my either Dottie Rambo or Gloria Gaither!

Sandy Patty has an amazing voice, as they say on AI she could make sing the phone book and make it sound awe inspiring!! Thanks for the great song.
Blessings Linda...Any song by Sandi Patti are a blessings and sung with
such beauty & awe!
I could only think of two from my memory (which I was done with college & adopting my family in this year) of Sandi Patti...at this time that she signed:
Either..."Love in any language" or
"We shall behold Him" and since you
titled this Classic hymn, I'll have to go with the later.
You could post any song by her & I would not only love it but probably be in tears because of the profound impact her voice & music had on my life at that time & whenever I have the privilege to hear her! Thanks!
Thank you for choosing one of the greatest songs and songwriter! Sandi is aMazing & I can't help but be moved my God'd spirit when I hear her hit those notes and I too get chills and tears!
Enjoy your weekend & TSMSS!
AMEN SISTA! I listened and watched the whole thing- transfixed. Grinning. Oh yeah. I have to run to my piano now.
I have always loved that song and the powerful message it shares! Dottie Rambo wrote some beautiful songs that I remember growing up hearing. Thank you so much for sharing one I had not heard in a while....
Just gorgeous, Linda, I love that song. We used to have a Pastor's wife who sang it so beautifully. Of course everyone would stand near the end of it. It was so neat to watch Dottie's reaction too. Thanks so much for sharing that.
