Whose Reputation?

From our new pastor's first official sermon yesterday:
My goal is not to build a great church with a great reputation. But my goal is for the people of this church to live and love so that Jesus has a great reputation. When the community looks at us, I don't want them to say "what a great church" but "what a great Savior."

Amen. May we never forget Who it's really all about.

Amen! My best bit of testimony came as a complete surprise to me! I walked out of my home one Sunday morning just as my neighbor came out of her home. She met me at my car and said, "Every Sunday, no matter what, you walk out of your home at the same time and go to church. Your faithfulness has finally convinced me to turn off the TV. May I come with you?"

We never know who is watching, or what they're seeing. Live your beliefs. There is no better witness.

this was so good, Linda. As we are trying to change the reputation this church had developed in the community before we got here, it is a great reminder.

And may congregations around the world be blessed with pastors and leaders who preach the truth and nothing but the truth!
