I just love this song by Jonny Diaz (pronounced Die-az, not Dee-az). If you know a girl between the ages of -- oh, let's say, birth and 94 years old, she needs to hear this message!
MORE BEAUTIFUL YOU
Little girl fourteen flipping through a magazine
Says she wants to look that way
But her hair isn’t straight her body isn’t fake
And she’s always felt overweight
Well little girl fourteen I wish that you could see
That beauty is within your heart
And you were made with such care your skin your body and your hair
Are perfect just the way they are
There could never be a more beautiful you
Don’t buy the lies disguises and hoops they make you jump through
You were made to fill a purpose that only you could do
So there could never be a more beautiful you
Little girl twenty-one the things that you’ve already done
Anything to get ahead
And you say you’ve got a man but he’s got another plan
Only wants what you will do instead
Well little girl twenty-one you never thought that this would come
You starve yourself to play the part
But I can promise you there’s a man whose love is true
And he’ll treat you like the jewel you are
So turn around you’re not too far
To back away be who you are
To change your path go another way
It’s not too late you can be saved
If you feel depressed with past regrets
The shameful nights hope to forget
Can disappear they can all be washed away
By the One Who’s strong can right your wrongs
Can rid your fears dry all your tears
And change the way you look at this big world
He will take your dark distorted view
And with His light He will show you truth
And again you’ll see through the eyes of a little girl

This is a powerful message that many young ladies need to hear...so much pressure on them from every direction...they need only to turn their eyes to Jesus.
God bless,
Mary
That is a neat song, Linda, thanks for sharing it.
Blessings Linda...More Beautiful You certainly has a profound message for any girl to woman struggling with her self esteem but just knowing Psalm 139 and how much God loves each one, certainly drives this truth home! Great video and enjoyed Jonny's explanation. Thanks for sharing this!
EnJOY TSMSS & your weekend!
Linda, thank you for sharing this powerful song and message. It goes right along with Fitness Friday post on Heart Choices yesterday. I wrote about body image and having a proper perspective as a Christian. I never heard of this artist or song but I'm so glad to know of him. Perfect timing wouldn't you say?
Blessings,
Debbie
The lyricist did a great job on this song. It's a neat service for millions of girls, young or old, out there. Sometimes certain pressures are just unnecessary, too insane and too worldly. We do need something to help us deal with ever-present barrage of insane pressures.
Wonderful message! This is the first time I have heard this song, but I certainly hope it is not the last!
Thank you for this beautiful message in song.
What a true message this song carries!
Wow, what a wonderful song. This is the first time I've heard about this. At first I thought it was just some song which would encourage a girl to love herself who the way she is without any inspiration or direct relationship with the Lord. But , wow, I feel awed how the composer reaches out the youth with such a beautiful message that with God in our hearts there could be no other beautiful You. That we are created with a purpose to glorify Him..
Thanks for sharing..
Hey Linda,
This song is receiving a lot of airtime on our Christian radio here in Ontario. I don't have any daughters, but I know it is a relevant message. Thanks for sharing.
Blessings,
Sita
This is my first time hearing this...what a timely and relevant message this day and age...It was very neat to hear the artist's inspiration for writing this song....
It's a great song. We are beautiful in God's eyes; that's all it matters :).
I love this song also. When I first heard it , I was so glad that a christian man was affirming our young women,to counter what the world has out there to damage their self-esteems.

I saw this video somewhere and it was so moving.
This should be required listening!
You are so right - this song is for ALL ages. Thanks for sharing it. What a wonderful message.
